Position Summary

Provide leadership and oversight support for achieving safety, financial, operational and technical objectives of the

EFH Relay Test organization. To direct relay test technicians and contractors in the performance of all support of

the electrical relay testing and maintenance in conformance with all applicable NERC and other standards, the trouble

shooting and repair of the protective relay equipment, and acceptance testing of new protective relay equipment.

Insure technicians are trained and continue the development of training programs to support the technicians This

position is also responsible to develop and implement work strategies / resource plans for the EFH fleet and to

ensure activities are implemented as planned in a safe and efficient manner. This position also assists the

engineering groups in designing and implementing new relay designs and installations.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Develops work strategies, resource plans, contractor and crew to achieve compliance with relay maintenance in

compliance with regulations.

2. Provides input into the development of the OM Capital budgets for monitoring and control of electrical systems.

3. Provides Leadership and Oversight to include but not limited to First Line Supervisors and Contractors involved in

the Maintenance and Modifications of electrical protection systems.

4. Develops and Maintains work standards and behaviors that support the highest level of safety, regulatory

compliance, quality, and productivity.

5. Observes/ monitors employees performance on a regular basis. Improves performance by working with employees

to reinforce strengths and to strengthen areas of weakness, by coaching and recommending training needs.

6. Provides input into the development of performance indicators and departmental goals as they relate to safety,

quality, and productivity. Monitors established performance indicators as they relate to the departmental goals

using this as a tool to improve group performance.

7. Develops plans and strategies for the implementation of major projects and other initiatives.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.

Basic Qualifications

1. Two year degree in electronic/electrical engineering technology from a program that is accredited by a national

accreditation agency, or equivalent degree.

2. More than 10 years experience electrical relaying in power plants operation or utility systems.

3. Working knowledge of all aspects electrical relaying and modification work. Organizational and Leadership skill

required to effectively manage a large, diverse work group.

4. Experience with labor agreements and administration requirements.

5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

6. Ability to work well with individuals on all levels of the organization.

7. License to drive a motor vehicle in the state of Pennsylvania.

8. Ability to achieve NERC CIP clearance.

9. Ability to hold clearance orders.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Supervisory experience managing a large work group responsible for electrical relaying maintenance and

modification activities at multiple geographic locations.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, NFPA and NEC regulations to ensure a safe work environment.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of NERC and other regulatory standards to ensure compliance.
