Description: - Production Technician - Memphis, TN (1200346) Job Description Production Technician - Memphis, TN-1200346 Description The on-site industrial gas production technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of an air separation plant in Memphis, TN. The plant provides low cost, high purity industrial gas for our customers via a pipeline and liquid transport. The successful candidate will be an energetic self-starter. The position requires the technician to be on-call to service the plant. A strong sense of ownership and leadership is needed to be successful in this position. A dedication to safety is a must. The technician must have proven mechanical skills and a strong background in instrumentation and electrical control systems. The candidate must be able to perform routine maintenance and calibrations on a variety of process equipment including gas analyzers, electrical control systems, centrifugal compressor systems, and pneumatic control valves. The technician must be able to comprehend technical manuals in addition to interpreting process and instrumentation diagrams and prints. In addition, the candidate must be computer literate and have strong interpersonal skills. Other responsibilities include administration duties to support plant operations. Must be able to learn and perform in a fast-paced environment. This technician position reports to the Plant Manager, and is supported with a variety of internal and external technical resources. Qualifications Minimum high school degree and 3 years or more of operations experience in either Praxair Operations or a similar technically orientated job. Technical education or experience related to job responsibilities is strongly preferred.
