Production/Operations Manager Job in Dallas, Texas US
Manufacturing firm in Dallas is seeking an experienced Production/Operations Manager.
The Production/Operations Manager is responsible for managing all phases of production to include estimating, project management, engineering, production and warehouse. Accountable for product quality, production efficiency and cost control.
The essential duties of this position are:
- Hiring/training/evaluating/counseling/disciplining/terminating of staff to include Project Managers, Engineering Manager, Estimator, Shop Foreman and Warehouse Manager.
- Monitor departments analyzing their present and future personnel and equipment needs and initiate actions to meet business needs
- Develop manufacturing growth and expansion plan for company
- Develop yearly department budget
- Support new product introduction through design and validation phases
- Assist managers in the management of their department personnel including hiring and performance evaluations
- Recommend improvements in department where appropriate
- Work with all departments in company to improve products currently manufactured
- Conduct weekly production meetings and monthly job review meetings
- Attend and participate in job launches, management meetings and other meetings as necessary
- Evaluate/approve engineering drawings
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
We are searching for someone with at least 10 years previous experience managing production in a manufacturing facility for wood products. The individual must have the ability to think pro-actively, excellent analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to multi-task. The ideal candidate will also be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
