SEI’s Global Wealth Services is an outsourcing solution for wealth managers which combine wealth processing technology (GWP), operational outsourcing, and wealth management programs, coupled with business process expertise. The integrated offering of services aims to provide wealth management organizations the suite of services necessary to capitalize on their strategic business objectives in managing a client’s wealth life cycle.
The Global Wealth Platform (GWP) is the technology which enables the delivery of SEI’s Global Wealth Services (GWS) for SEI’s markets. The Global Wealth Platform or GWP enables these services via single, web-based, hosted technical platform which operates on a single operational database along with a data warehouse which supports reporting and data mining.
The Global Wealth Platform Solution Managers play a critical role in the delivery of quality services for current and future clients.
Each Solution Manager will have responsibility for one or more domains. The Solutions Manager will therefore require specific experience and understanding of one or more of the following domains:
- The adviser process, financial planning, CRM, business practice management
- Client communications, statements and web experience
- Client investment administration, maintenance processing
- Investment products, wrappers and asset types
- Requirements driven by regulation, compliance and industry standards
The applicant’s specific domain skill sets will determine the appropriate product and service bundle assigned to the position.
Through extensive interaction with clients, prospect firms and the market, the Solution Manager will identify and define services and solutions for development. The Solution Manager will be responsible for a core domain, and will represent and champion the requirements of that domain for the UK market segment.
The Solution Manager will work closely with sales, marketing, relationship management, GWS services and development. New services and service enhancements will be documented and presented through a portfolio management process, into a scale agile development program.
Core / Strategic Activities:
- Determine current and future market requirements within the context of what drives value for the market segment.
- Determine current and future market requirements
- Monitor and determine requirements to maintain regulatory and industry compliance standards within GWP processing platform
- Maintain the product roadmap for specifically owned product service bundles
- Participate in development budget allocation and prioritization
- Recommend Pricing/Packaging Structures
- Manage the agile development process at the portfolio investment level as a business owner
- Set platform development priorities for the segment
- Support prospect and client initiatives
- Oversee the Agile Development Process at the Program level as a Product Manager
- Decide Solution Priorities and make necessary trade-offs within Market Segment
- Support creation and maintenance of Documentation/Marketing Collateral
- Coordinate Release of new solutions into the market
- Manage Vendor Relationships where needed
- Other duties as necessary
Activities in the Scale Agile Framework:
- Work within the service portfolio program management structure to determine priority and business objectives
- Work with system architects to understand business and technical architecture
- Manage the segment backlog
- Participate in regular release planning, release management, and solution validation
Details:
- The GWP Solution Manager must focus on providing innovative, forward looking solutions that meet the market objectives while establishing the framework for providing SEI a competitive advantage in delivering client value in the future. This balance is a key responsibility of the GWP Solution Manager to ensure that our solutions not only meet the market needs of today, but are well positioned to meet the market needs in the future
- Working with other market Solutions units and the Product unit to determine priority and business objectives. The Solution Manager is an active member of the extended Portfolio Management Team, and participates in decision-making about the key economic drivers for future releases
- The Solution Manager develops strong working relationships with other market’s Solution Managers, as well as vendors, development teams, operations, legal and IT
- The Solution Manager will ensure that there is supporting documentation regarding significant use cases, user scenarios, relevant standards and nonfunctional requirements to allow for the understanding of and breaking of features into stories for implementation
- The Solution Manager must be prepared to participate on the release management Sprint team, or other mechanism for scope triage. In addition, the Solution Manager is involved with the aggregated sprint demos, PSI level demonstrations, evaluation of business value achieved versus plan, and in the Inspect and Adapt workshop used to continually improve program performance.
Below are the requirements of the GWP Solution Manager
- 5+ years of experience in product and service development in financial services or equivalent practical experience
- A strong understanding of the IFA and private client sectors
- A strong understanding of retail product distribution and administration (SIPP, ISA, Bond etc.)
- Naturally innovative, inquisitive, challenging and solution seeking
- Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and communication skills
- Has specific market experience in the delivery of financial services and the software platforms used to enable those services
- Ability to coordinate different SEI organizations and levels of management
- Ability to lead and/or participate in the definition of the strategy for a domain based on viability across market, consumption within market and revenue opportunities
- Create and maintain products and services that provide consistent value to our markets in a scalable and maintainable solution
- Ability to work in an ever-changing environment and be comfortable with driving change
- Create trust with stakeholders through clarity and consistency of decision-making
Location and Travel
The positions are based at our London office. Some global and domestic travel may be required, including regular visits to our corporate headquarters in Oaks, nr. Philadelphia PA.
