Plans and develops educational activities for physicians and advanced practice providers, using quality improvement concepts, and continuously evaluates and enhances program effectiveness by monitoring participant's educational outcomes and user adoption of education. ---- * Plans, develops, and implements educational activities in collaboration with faculty members, which helps to maintain, develop or increase knowledge, problem-solving, technical skills and/or professional performance standards all with the goal that physicians and advanced practice providers can provide better health care. * In conjunction with faculty, researches continuing professional education models, monitors changes in the health care delivery system, develops and conducts needs assessments, evaluates existing educational offerings, and makes recommendations that will improve continuing professional education activities. * Plans and creates educational interventions and activities. Monitors educational activities to ensure compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Essential Areas and Standards as adopted by the Wisconsin Medical Society. * Develops and implements marketing plans and produces appropriate materials. Works directly with faculty members on developing their instructional materials (including handouts, power point presentations, and other visual aids) in order to enhance participant learning and to promote fair balance in the educational materials. * After the completion of an activity and/or intervention, reviews outcome evaluations to determine what participants learned, how their behavior changed, and what impact these changes had on the participant's practice, and then actively uses this information to develop and plan new activities. * Identifies sources of educational grant funding and obtains letters of agreement from commercial supporters, such as pharmaceutical corporations, that provide grants in support of educational activities. * Responsible for keeping track of critical educational files, credit letters, contracts, planning documents and evaluations for educational activities. * Collaborates with department staff to integrate standards for continuous improvement into educational activities. * Develops, reviews, and maintains continuing professional development activity budgets. General Qualifications * Knowledge of quality improvement principles, adult education, and/or related field, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited bachelor's degree program. * Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in continuing medical, professional, or health care related education that includes experiences in adult education, quality improvement processes, accreditation requirements, assessing needs and evaluation. * Demonstrated ability to apply adult education theory for the planning and programming of educational activities. * Demonstrates project management skills along with the ability to design educational activities which incorporates collaboration of multiple stakeholders and cross-functional work teams. * Knowledge of developing, reviewing and maintaining budgets and contracts. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, management, executives, and a wide variety of internal and external vendors, collaborators and stakeholders. * Demonstrated project management, decision making, delegation, prioritization, team building, time management, customer service, and conflict resolution skills. * Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and have an exceptional attention to detail. * Intermediate computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products, and web based or e-learning systems.
