PolarLake's Platform enables these firms to acquire, manage and distribute Financial and Reference Data with speed, agility and control never before seen with traditional approaches.
The Role
The successful candidate will work in a hands-on capacity on PolarLake client implementations, integrating and supporting our next generation Data Management product for tier 1 Financial Services organizations. This role may also require travel in Europe and North America, where necessary.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent
- Database skills, including knowledge of extensive SQL experience, relational database schema design, DML, DDL, programmatic data access using JDBC within an Oracle 11g environment
- Knowledge of Data Mining and Modelling
- Knowledge of XML technologies i.e. XML, XML Schema (XQuery a plus)
- Knowledge of Internet protocols and applications
- Knowledge of distributed systems and integration technologies / approaches (JMS, MQ, J2EE)
- Knowledge of Financial Services Capital Markets a plus
- Knowledge of Vendor Pricing and Reference Data Feeds (Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, SIX Telekurs, SP, Fitch, Moody's etc.) a plus
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good oral communications and presentation skills
- Good written communication skills
- Professional manner
