The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is seeking a Professional Technologist 2 to manage computer technology in 16 labs/classrooms. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: computer installation, operation, maintenance, and purchasing; consulting with faculty on instructional technology needs in order to make recommendations and implement new systems; assisting in the design of new instructional areas; supervise students, provide security remediation support, and provide desktop support. A BS/BA degree is required, preferably in a technology field. Applicants should have 2-3 years of overall experience in server management, client computer management using software tools, and employee supervision. This position will require a demonstrated excellence in communication skills, supervision, and the ability to effectively work independently. Technical abilities must include the following: ability to manage a large number of computer systems (Mac and PC) using Ghost, Altiris, and Apple Server administration tools; demonstrated ability to manage a computing server (Windows, MacOS, and Unix); and knowledge of security remediation methods.
