Professor of Creative Writing Job in Bath BA2 9BN
Our client, one of the first major “teaching-led” universities in the UK, where the highest possible emphasis is placed on teaching quality, is seeking a Professor of Creative Writing. Professors will play a central role in profiling the University’s creative writing programmes, particularly at postgraduate level, and in building the University’s reputation on the global stage.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- undertake continued publication of world-class creative writing/practice
- represent the University regionally, nationally and internationally in an ambassadorial role at conferences and symposia
- to raise the profile of the University and specifically the creative writing programmes
- undertake recruitment, publicity and promotional activities in the interests of the Department, School and Institution
- maintain and develop links with key national and international agencies, associations and employers, to the benefit of University staff and students
- to develop productive relationships with industry partners
- teach creative writing/practice at both undergraduate and postgraduate level
- offer leadership, guidance and mentoring to other staff in the School/University in relevant subject area
- undertake other responsibilities as agreed with the Head of School, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Vice-Chancellor as appropriate
