The Opportunity
The Professor of Mental Health Nursing will be an appointment in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the Clayton campus but will function with strong collaborative links across the Mental Health Program at Southern Health. This key appointment will provide visionary and strategic leadership in the
academic, professional and political arenas, positioning both Monash Nursing and Midwifery and Southern Health for the future, progressing programs, research and community engagement. It is expected that the appointee will strengthen the existing relationship between the school and Southern Health by engaging academics and clinicians in collaborative research activities.
The successful candidate will: have a research doctorate in mental health nursing; be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (or eligible to register); have an international reputation for outstanding research and a highly-regarded clinical profle; and have highly-developed skills of leadership, networking and management. A vision for the future needs and development of mental health nursing within Australia and internationally is essential.
The appointee will be accountable to the Head, School of Nursing and Midwifery.Duration
The appointment will be for a fixed-term of three years. Subject to performance and other criteria, a further term may be negotiable.
