Program Coordinator, Head Start Grant Funded Job in Elk Grove 60007, Illinois US

The American Academy of Pediatrics, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for Children’s healthcare, has an open position of Program Coordinator for the Head Start National Center on Health (NCH) program.  The NCH has the goal of helping Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) programs implement effective approaches to medical and dental care access, health awareness, obesity prevention in young children, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety. The Center will also assist the Head Start community to ensure healthy outcomes for children and families. This individual will provide administrative support for individuals in the division, and coordinate program activities and webinars.

 

This Program Coordinator will have a variety of key responsibilities; some include coordinating meetings and travel arrangements, developing presentations, maintaining content for Web pages, tracking phone and email inquiries to the NCH, and monitoring project budgets by developing reports.  

 

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health administration, education, child development, or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.  At least 2-3 years experience in program coordination including coordinating meetings, developing presentations, and maintaining Web pages required. Experience with community outreach, grants and working in an early childhood or health field is preferred. The selected candidate will have strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
