Program Eligibility Specialist Job in Sheridan 72150, Arkansas US

The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) is the state's largest agency with 8,200 employees working in 181 county offices serving more than one million people. Employees work in 10 major divisions and five support offices to provide services to Arkansas citizens. DHS is currently seeking to fill the position of Program Eligibility Specialist in Sheridan, AR.

The Program Eligibility Specialist is responsible for obtaining client information, preparing and monitoring case plans, coordinating services with providers, and preparing information and recommendations. This Position:

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- federal and state laws, policies, procedures, and guidelines governing client eligibility for assistance programs.
- community-based programs and services.

Ability to:
- interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines in determining eligibility for assistance programs.
- evaluate client information, assess client needs, and make referrals.
- prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports.
- interview and provide technical assistance.
- use computer software to produce reports and written communications. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field.
