Program Financials Analyst
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Analyst, Program Financials accountabilities will be to co-ordinate, execute and continually evaluate the forecast and allocation model for the Program cost centres. These activities can include:
· Direct liaison with managers to gather and analyze forecast expense data.
· Provide recommendations to Management when analysis warrants forecast adjustments.
· Document and provide input into the annual budgeting process.
· Provide detailed analysis on a regular basis and where necessary provide commentary on fluctuations and recommendations to reduce data gaps.
· Continuous review of cost and procurement management processes and policy, so that results reported follow consistent standards.
· Assistance in the preparation of Business Cases, RFPs, SOWs, and any related documentation.
· Provide details of Key Performance Indicators for the purposes of management reporting.
· Cross training with other team members to ensure efficient department functioning at all times.
This critical work will help to shape the direction of the program and help to integrate cancer screening programs and their associated technologies that currently reside within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
The key responsibilities of this position are:
- Participates and coordinates the annual budgeting process
- Analyzes, assesses and documents program financial requirements to create/validate monthly operating statements
- Makes recommendations with respect to related policies and procedures
- Coordinates with project managers and calculates budget numbers for project plans
- Administers capitalization aspect of projects (coordinates with Finance)
- Assists in the management of project budgets
- Gathers the monthly KPM/KPI’s and reports them to management
- Solid ability to analyze problems and provide solutions to a variety of problems that are encountered under normal business activity efficiently
- Recognizes when a decision is required or a problem exists and follows established decision authority or standard problem-solving procedures and works with others in evaluating decisions/ solutions
- Provides other reporting as required
- Provide update to resource time management tracking tool (vacation)
- Carries out workflow and process redesign activities
- Escalates issues as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An undergraduate Degree in business, accounting, economics, or recognized equivalent, is required
- Eight or more years of business experience including four to six years of related Financial Analysis experience
- Good knowledge of project management, forecasting, budgeting and applicable industry experience in working on projects that support client groups such as Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Finance, Human Resources or Information Management
- Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills
- Proven team player with strong interpersonal skills including ability to resolve conflicts, diplomacy, achieve consensus and able to work comfortably with internal staff and contractor
- Proactive self-starter, quick learner, energetic
- Excellent communications (oral and written), planning and organizational skills
- Works well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
- Provides practical suggestions for improving work processes in own area
- Strong ability to work with business and technical communities in identifying information and data requirements necessary to define solutions
- Experience in business financial analysis and/or project financial analysis
- Healthcare industry experience is an asset
