Job Category: Sales Location: Washington, DC, US Job ID: 788440-76610 Division: Services Support Microsoft Consulting Services is looking for an exceptional business and technical leader who will support the National Security Group as a Program Manager in the Washington DC metro area. Qualified candidates should have an advanced degree or equivalent experience in leading a professional services delivery team within the US federal government. Experience within the Federal Government and/or Systems Integrator space is a plus. Must have 10+ years industry or related consulting experience. Candidates must understand technology and have the background to provide leadership in the technological services practice. Strong oral/written communication, organization and interpersonal skills, combined with effective negotiation skills and a demonstrated effectiveness in a managerial role are required. Duties include: developing and overseeing implementation of effective services sales, delivery of engagements and staff management. The successful applicant will work with some of Microsoft's most important, most demanding customers partners and will be responsible for all aspects of our services business including: customer satisfaction, services delivery, operations, recruiting and staff development. The Program Manager will develop strategic plans to grow Microsoft's services business in alignment with our customers and partner needs. . He/she will also develop strong, positive relationships with the NSG ATU team, internal Microsoft groups like the IU, Sales Technical Unit (STU) and Product teams, other Program Managers, Service Directors and key local and Industry partners. The successful Program Manager's focus areas will include: Strong people management and leadership, Operational Control (operating and budgeted expense), and Resource Allocation (headcount and staffing plans). He/she will need to lead and motivate others, have a high level of selling and customer/partner service skills and have the ability to think strategically. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills as well as have the ability to interface effectively with employees and customers of all levels. Direct reports will include Premier (operations and support) and consulting individual contributors who represent some of the most senior technologists in Microsoft's field organization. This position will require direct people management and strong people leadership skills of a multi-discipline team. Overall Utilization target of 30% or more is expected. The role requires a strong manager who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated knowledge in Commercial Services, Operational support and Business Development. The successful candidate must be a US citizen and have an active US Government Security Clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). The position will require travel to customer sites up to 75% of the time. The selected candidate must be able to start within 30 days of offer acceptance. SS:PSS
