Program Manager

Summary:
We are seeking a Program Manager to provide overall business leadership to ensure product quality, on-time delivery, and customer service for military and transportation RD programs.
Responsibilities:
- Key contact for major customers on all program-related matters, including reviews, technical interchange meetings and external conferences.
- Support program requirements and needs with emphasis on statements of work, specifications, deliverable lists and master scheduling.
- The Program Manager will interface with the Vice President in the management of contracts and new products
- Responsible for full support of the development of products with the customers and PL accountability for own programs.
- Lead regular program meetings and reviews to address progress and ensure customer requirements are met.
- Act as interface between RD department and customers
- Will lead execution of existing work and lead the development of follow-on business activities for the programs assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven program management skills
- High-level of general business acumen
- Strong business and contract management ability, including PL responsibility
- Ability to influence cross-functionally, both within the company and with external companies/clients
- Must have strong writing skills for proposal development, requirements analysis and program management.
- Knowledge of program management tools and procedures.
- Solid leadership and management skills, particularly “influence management: and “conflict resolution”.
- Experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment to include: generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts.
- Experience in multiple areas such as finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing or supply chain management desired.
- Must have experience in programs where financial objectives (profit, cash flow, revenue bookings) were achieved.
- Excellent presentation, customer service, and problem solving, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel including frequent travel to coordinate with other DRS locations and customers in their home country is required.
- Experience with MS office professional and project software tools.
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Business
