Role Summary/Purpose
The Program Manager, Database and Infrastructure security will be responsible for leadership of the data control projects and database security technologies across the GE Corporate Business. This role will be responsible for driving data access security controls and reducing risk related to storing, transferring or processing of corporate data.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead Database Security initiatives globally with CIS/GIS/DBA/Server teams and serve as subject matter expert in database security and design
  • Work with application and infrastructure teams to formulate DB project plans and security strategies
  • Lead account reviews, highly privileged access and DB segregation of duties projects across the business
  • Work with IT business leaders to develop a database security standard ensuring compliance with and corporate information security policies and standards
  • Lead data leakage prevention projects across database technologies including data masking, access control and auditing
  • Assist in defining security strategy for emerging database DB technologies, determine business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation plans
  • Provide risk management for IT systems, processes and data ensuring appropriate controls and remediation, to company policy and procedures
  • Support GIS, CIS and IT Compliance with internal and regulatory audits around database and application security
  • Educate CIS, GIS, and business functional teams providing audience appropriate information security awareness, training and guidance on security and data privacy topics/concerns/issues
  • Overall support and interpretation of security policies, standards and guidelines
  • Assist other internal groups (human resources, legal, and IT operations) as appropriate

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Management or equivalent field of study
  • Minimum 7-10 years combined experience of Information Technology, Application, Security, Operations and Leadership experience
  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle 10g/9/8/8i, MS-SQL, MySQL, EDI, DB2, Universal Database V8.1, Access, Lotus Notes, SAP, DPF
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Operating Systems: Windows 2000/NT/ME/XP/Vista, UNIX Sun Solaris, DOS
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Applications: SQL-Loader, SQL Navigator, SSH, Domino 5.x/6.x, ULTRADEV, Novell Netware, Golden 32, Adobe Acrobat Reader, POS, ISS Site Protector, Clarity, SMS, Telnet, FTP, RSA, enVision, Clarity, Check Point, Configuresoft, Symantec, McAfee, IDS/IPS products

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work from an office in Glen Allen, VA or Schenectady, NY

    Desired Characteristics

  • MS or MBA
  • Training in Information Security-specific disciplines and/or MCP, CISM, CISSP or SSCP certification
  • Six Sigma trained; Green or Black belt certification
  • Certifications: Oracle Database 10g, UNIX System Administration Oracle 8i Database Administration Certification Program, Introduction and Management of UNIX, SQL and PL/SQL
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and lead in a team-based, global setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of recognized IT Security-related standards and technologies
