Program Manager-Deep Space Network Job in Pasadena, California US
Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of SNC, for a $900M subsidiary of a $10B+ Strategic Business Group. They are a recognized leader in delivering engineering, information, logistics and professional services to clients in the space, defense, logistics and information technology markets at locations around the world. This position is within the Space, Networks Communications Services Business Segment (SNC). This position: The DSN contract provides maintenance, operations and sustaining engineering for the Deep Space Network. The DSN contract is projected to have a base period of 5 years with annual revenue of approximately $50M. The immediate focus is to support the multi-million dollar JPL DSN OM procurement effort. Additional focus upon contract announcement will be on revenue growth through the obtainment of additional business and identifying and pursuing new opportunities for on contract revenue growth as well as new growth pursuits at other NASA centers such as AMES and Dryden. Interaction with leadership from other HTSI program to assist in the identification and capture of new business is also essential. Plans, directs and monitors HTSI program budget.
Background Required:
Mission and data service operations in support of NASAs space program including Jet Propulsion Lap (JPL)
Program or project management including: milestone planning and tracking, work package prioritization; financial management and performance; critical path scheduling; business case strategy development; risk management; return on investment; requirements development etc.
Business acumen: contract management, profit and loss, budget development, planning, projecting and forecasting
Strategic: assess and analyze issues and risks develops action plans and strategies to insure success
Customer management and development: managing expectations, negotiation, ability to influence, delivering above and beyond expectations, ultimately creating a win / win environment
Trained in Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma
Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or technical field
Residence: Pasadena, CA (Relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
Belted in Six Sigma and / or certified in Lean Manufacturing
PMP certified or ability to achieve PMP certification
Advanced Degree: Masters or MBA
