Responsible for the strategic plan development and tactical execution of the medical education programs for the assigned business segment(s). Responsible for the implementation, promotion and assessment of medical education programs; the development and management of both internal and external customers.
Roles Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of all medical educational activities, including program development, execution, management and measurement for assigned business segment(s).
2. Lead the design and implementation of medical educational programs, including the coordination and creation of program agendas, content and promotional materials.
3. Responsible for the overall execution and success of assigned medical education activities and programs; working in collaboration with varied team members within the MERC education group, Professional Affairs, meeting planning, travel, logistics and other internal and external support groups.
4. Develops and drives strategic planning process to support the business segment(s) needs, incorporating educational strategy, business strategy and resource management.
5. Develops and maintains strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL).
6. Responsible for frequent and consistent communication with various stakeholders, including KOL consultants, field sales and sales management and internal customers and team members.
7. Acts as a primary point of contact for KOL program faculty members; is available to meet consultant KOL scheduling needs.
8. Consults and collaborates with all team members; provides recommendations for KOL faculty appointments for medical education programs.
9. Responsible for the planning and development of the Annual Needs Assessment for medical education activities and programs for assigned business segments(s).
10. Responsible for the incorporation and collaboration with all key stakeholders, including executive management, product development, marketing, finance and related functional team members within assigned business segment(s).
11. Responsible, with the support of meeting planning team members for the creation, management and reconciliation of program budgets.
12. Responsible for the measurement of program and event effectiveness and overall quality, including monthly metrics reporting, the development of recommendations for improvement, program innovation and competitive analysis and comparison.
13. Works closely with colleagues in Professional Affairs and assumes responsibility to assure that KOL contractual relationships are requested, approved and executed fully prior to, and well in advance of the execution of all medical educational programs for assigned business segment(s)
14. Collaborates with Regulatory Affairs and the Office of Ethics and Compliance; is responsible for the review and approval of all promotional and presentation materials prior to use/distribution.

Education / Experience
1. BA/BS degree with 5+ years’ experience working directly with customers, technical experts and professionals, preferably in medical devices / healthcare.
2. Direct experience in medical education program development OR medical device marketing.
Travel Requirements
Up to twenty-five percent (25%), some weekend travel required.
