Program Manager (Retail) Job in Toronto/Gta, Ontario Canada
*****12 month contract - probable extensions to follow*****
One of our major clients is looking for a Sr. Program Manager to run a very large business consolidation program. The program is to create and implement a restructuring plan including company and location rationalization. The program will also include significant change management planning and implementation. This is a large program with tens, and perhaps at times hundreds, of contributors and team members. The budget will be in the area of $10-20 million per year.
***This resource must be comfortable with extensive travel - 2-4 days/ week***
Required Skills/Expertise:
- Successful experience working with large, diverse and contentious stakeholder groups
- Able to travel extensively - probably 2-4 days per week
- Senior Program Management experience - 10+ years experience managing large programs ($20M+) some of which involve business transformation and change management
- Capable of leading processes to develop business cases and program charters
- Experienced at leading and managing multiple senior project managers that are delivering projects within the program
- Fits in well with senior executives up to and including the CEO level in a Fortune 100 sized company. Is comfortable discussing the program in relation to the overall business
- Experienced at effective creation and engagement of the program governance structure
- Comfortable leading senior management through change including gaining positive engagement of senior executives, where appropriate, in program implementation
- Is adept at maintaining clear and frequent communications with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Consultative - they understand consulting and the unique relationship a consultant has with the client. They understand relationship preservation and how to sublimate and merge their experience and instincts into the client's requirements.
- Has the judgment to know how and when to take a strong approach when required to keep the program on track
- Experience working with a Program Control Officer and good delegation skills
- Experienced at developing risk and issue management frameworks to aggregate overall program risk and issue status for executive reporting
- Recognises that sharing key technical and business resources with day-to-day operations is a necessity and is adept at making this sharing work for both the program and the day-to-day operations.
- Superior negotiation skills
- Retail experience is an asset
