Local, mobile and social are the three hottest areas of innovation in our industry today: § Most retail transactions occur offline at local businesses but 70-90% of online consumers research on the internet before heading to stores. § Mobile internet users are expected to exceed desktop users in four years reaching 1.6 billion customers and 53% of mobile searches have a local intent § Usage of social networks and location check-ins have been growing exponentially Microsoft's success in these areas starts with having the best local data including businesses, places, offers, reviews, and more. Local Search is an exciting space with formidable competitors. The mission of the local team is to build a local data set that is better than any other source for local data on the web. We are the source behind all local data surfaced on Bing.com and in our mobile products. In this role you will be working within the local engineering team to ensure that we are properly executing on all global aspects of our data platform from content sourcing and normalization, to conflation, relevance and measurement. You will also be driving a "market playbook" that identifies scorecards, best practices and standard across our whole stack. You will work with international teams in China and India and you will also be a contact point for global business development activities.
