Position Summary

Program Representative
o In this role, you will work on a team supporting drug manufacturers and biotechnology companies by providing a variety of services for their specialty products.
o The Program Representative position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, good problem-solving abilities, and great time-management skills. Strong customer service and multi-tasking capabilities are essential functions as well.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. You will have the opportunity to research insurance coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and work with patient assistance programs.
  2. You will also have the ability to coordinate and process requests from manufacturers, patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. 
  3. Manage patient accounts, research insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, resolve any billing and collections issues, and interact with physicians, patients, insurers, and pharmaceutical representatives.
  4. Additionally, some teams offer the ability to work with non-profit patient assistance programs that provide financial assistance and help with patient’s co-pays.
Experience and Education Requirements

Minimum two years of customer service experience required or college degree required plus six months of customer service experience.
Preference given to candidates with a healthcare background (medical insurance, physician’s office, pharmacy, hospital, etc.)

High School Diploma or GED required; preference given to candidates

  1. Telephone skills are essential.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member with a customer satisfaction focus.
  3. Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  4. Ability and initiative to work independently.
  5. Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, organizational and customer relations skills.
