Programme Manager
The Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS) is seeking a Programme Manager to join the Product Technology team within Macquarie Adviser Services (MAS). MAS are responsible for distributing products through financial intermediaries and institutions including Cash, Mortgages, WRAP and trading platforms, and Insurance. These product offerings encompass investment, online administration and portfolio reporting services to financial institutions, advisers and their clients.
Due to the continued growth of the Cash, Mortgages, and Online businesses, an opportunity exists for a Programme Manager to join this established and successful team who are responsible for the strategic development program for Macquarie Cash products.
Reporting to the Programme Director you will be responsible for management and delivery of a large portfolio of strategic business technology based solutions to align with the product objectives, with the aim to enhance the platform, drive growth in new client segments and meet the growing needs of the existing client base. Key to this role will be your end to end understanding of financial product and services and supporting online platforms. Demonstrated internal and external stakeholder management is also essential.
Key responsibilities
- Structuring and managing the team's program of work, including preparation and management of budgets, resource plans, risk and issues management
- Directly manage multiple projects with additional project managers reporting in as part of the wider portfolio of work.
- Defining new projects, including business case, functional scope, process and system impact analysis, resource planning, financials planning and tracking, governance models, and associated status reporting Inspire business leaders to deliver solutions to meet client expectations
- Initiating and fostering strong relationships with colleagues and senior business stakeholders (product, sales, marketing, risk, operations, IT areas, and external vendors where required)
- Ability to get involved in the detail where required to ensure project delivery commitments are made
- Communicate effectively within and between stakeholders to promote knowledge sharing.
- Act as a conduit for managing the expectations of the business on a regular basis.
- Be instrumental in enabling the business to adapt to change.
- Supporting product managers, internal IT and other stakeholders with the development of proposals, presentations and plans ensuring that all strategic objectives and project deliverables are met
- Running of Programme Steering Committees and Project Working groups
- Ensuring the team is aligned to strategic business objectives and that relationships with internal clients are managed to maximise results
Key experience and attributes
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within the financial services industry or over 10 years project management experience.
- A proven track record in managing and delivery of business programmes over $5million.
- Strong capability in planning a programme of projects. People leadership skills at a senior level and management of a team of at least 5 direct reports.
- Extensive project management experience within the financial services industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely with the business.
- Works well under pressure to provide deliverables timely and to a high standard.
- Be a quick learner, self-motivated and have a strong proactive mentality.
- Strong problem solving skills with an ability to apply strategic thinking.
- Ability to manage priorities and resources to effectively deal with changes in demand, delivering on time and on budget.
