Programme Manager – Finance Technology recruitment
Our client is looking to recruit a strong Programme Manager with specific experience of Finance Technology projects. As the Programme Manager you will be responsible for developing and growing the Finance Technology capability within our client.
The successful candidate will manage a diverse range of projects in terms of scope, size and complexity, with resources located in UK and Asia with a combination of direct and matrix reporting lines. You will have full end to end responsibility from proposal stage through to implementation for allocated projects and therefore the Programme Manager will be required to develop relationships both within the business and with 3rd party vendors.
We are looking for someone with sound business and technical understanding and the commercial acumen to exploit IT for competitive advantage.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Establishing a strong working relationship with stakeholders within global Finance at all levels within the organisation
- Building a Technology Change function responsible for designing and delivering a strategy roadmap for the Finance Department globally
- Planning, organisation and control of multiple projects to agreed timescales and budgets
- Ownership and management of project goals, risks, finances and resources
- Obtaining agreement on project deliverables and ensuring that they meet all the requirements of both the business and across multiple systems groups
- Co-ordinating across multiple system groups and ensuring all impacted parties are co-ordinated and deliver to a common project goal
- Management of project team in a direct and matrix style, as required
- Scoping and estimation of project requirements and delivering sound strategies to meet business needs
- Establishing project timelines, action plans, risk management and change control procedures, and monitoring progress against agreed timelines
- Facilitate business and system workshops for business users of all levels
- Manage onshore-offshore development teams as required on allocated projects
- Preparation Monitor current working practices and where necessary advise on suitable and pragmatic continuous improvements and presentation of Steering Committee materials
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following experience:
- Proven IT Programme Management experience across the whole project lifecycle with a track record of successful implementations and strong business relationships
- Background within Financial Services specifically delivering projects within a Finance team
- Managed projects with direct responsibility for budgets of £5M+
- Delivery and results focused and the ability to manage complex senior client relationships
- Proven background building strategy roadmaps and delivering into a Finance function
- Ability to work alongside a Finance Team to deliver a programme of work
- Experience working with the Oracle Suite of Tools, particularly JDE, Hyperion EPM and Oracle Middleware including BPM and Webcenter
- Strong vendor management skills as well as the proven skills in mitigating 3rd party risk
- Proven offshore management skills – this will include developing an offshore capability
- An ability to work at differing levels of detail, both big picture concepts and complex detailed issues
- Skilled planner, able to focus on the key goals and manage path deviations creatively and with minimum confusion
- Practical experience of management and motivation of teams
Given the nature of this role you will need to demonstrate the ability and experience of presenting clear arguments to senior people in both IT and business. You will need to possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work face-to-face with stakeholders and therefore excellent presentation and communications skills are key.
