Our client is a global manufacturing company supplying components to the automotive industry. This company is an innovator in their field and is recognised globally by the leading automotive companies.
Reporting to the Operations Manager the Programme / Project Manager will be responsible for the management of all product launch projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supporting implementing team adherence to project management systems
· Managing plant interface in support of program targets
· Demonstrating an understanding of JIT/Lean Manufacturing System, general manufacturing, and application of the PFMEA / DFMEA / FMEA
· Issue lists (clear, concise, action plans) are updated and published at regular intervals
· Directing teams to ensure prompt responses to program needs
· Maintaining company credibility with the customer
· Communicating key issues to management, program status is clear
· Holding Phase / gateway reviews
· Continually updating progress and incorporating contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies
REQUIREMENTS
· Experience in automotive manufacturing Tier 1 / 2 supplier
· Able to manage multiple projects from development program through to launch including budget ownership responsibility
· Customer and Supplier relationship management
· Working knowledge of costing/quoting process
· Program management body of knowledge
· Understanding of engineering development, drawings, automotive production techniques logistics
· Cost and quality management
· Business, commercial and financial understanding
· MS Project, MS Office, Lotus Notes
· Knowledge of manufacturing process specific to their products
· Knowledge of design and development process
