Programme Manager – Technology Platform
Our client is looking to recruit a Programme Manager to manage the cross programme / project functions and work alongside the Senior Management team to provide them with a real-time consolidated and concise programme view.
The successful candidate will work with the Programme Director and will provide active management and reporting across all constituent parts of the programme, including plans provided by external vendors, internal teams and core programme work streams. The planning aspect of this role involves conducting detailed reviews of the individual workstream plans highlighting any conflicts that may become apparent and require resolution. The objective is to produce and manage a concise, usable view of all programme effort, timeframes and required results.
This role has arisen due to the complexity of the programme and will support the Programme Director through the active management and reporting across all constituent parts of delivery, including plans provided by external vendors, internal teams and core programme work streams. The successful candidate will be involved in conducting detailed reviews of the individual workstream project plans, highlighting conflicts that may become apparent and propose resolutions. We are looking for someone who is exceptionally methodical, meticulous, detailed, orgainised, persistent and a strong communicator. The successful candidate needs to be able to take on a significant amount of information and make order and sense of the information and then be able to present coherently to the Senior Management team. The successful candidate will also manage the programme office on a day-to-day basis ensuring all reporting and communication needs are met. The programme office establishes and maintains appropriate work processes, controls and reporting functions to keep management appraised of the programme’s work. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Understanding the full scope of the programme and ensuring all workstreams produce end to end project plans
- Collating workstream plans and producing an end to end summary highlighting all programme dependencies
- Working closely with teams outside the immediate programme to ensure their plans have clear milestones, dependencies, issues and risks appropriately tracked
- Planning, communicating and executing a coherent programme governance policy ensuring a suitable quality process is also in place to track adherence and spot issues early
- Ensuring appropriate health checks are in place to assess project/ work streams ability to meet its objectives
- Responsible for ensuring all reporting needs are met including review of steering committee materials and ad-hoc requests
You will need to be able to demonstrate experience and possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of the Asset Management business with a good end to end understanding of the high level processes
- A detailed understanding and experience of working on large scale global integration programmes
- A proven track record of delivery with the ability to work at various levels of detail as required
- The ability and experience to manage a large scale programme RAID log, ensuring key issues and risks are actively governed, tracked and reported
- Excellent communication skills with experience in helping resolve key programme dependencies across business areas
- Experience with offshore delivery models
- Experience of both Agile and more traditional waterfall project methodologies
