Programme/Project Manager – Regulatory Reporting Technology recruitment

My client, a leading investment bank, are currently seeking to take on a senior Project / Programme Manager to sit within their financial control team. Regulatory Reporting (Financial Control) Technology is a part of Global Finance Technology responsible for providing regulatory reporting systems to the banks finance department to aid compliance with theBaselaccords. The department is primarily responsible for gathering data from the Bank's trading systems and producing Risk Weighted Asset calculations on the Bank's central regulatory system for reporting to the group.

This role will initially have particular responsibilities for the delivery of the Basel III projects within Regulatory Reporting. The role will later extend as appropriate to cover a wider range or portfolio of projects across Regulatory Reporting.

The role includes day-to-day management of project managers based inLondonandSingapore, with line management of the London-based project managers. The candidate is expected to mentor less experienced project managers within the team.

Excellent project delivery/execution skills are not the only expectation for this role. It is also expected that the candidate will be able to provide shape and structure to programmes of work which includes multiple projects or workstreams and interact with business and technology stakeholders across different business and/or technology areas.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate proactive delivery and ownership during all phases of the project, from inception through to delivery into production.

The responsibilities for project management within this area include:

Project Initiation

Initial plan creation: including agreeing scope, estimation and resource demand planning

Work with Finance change leads to set project governance and identify stakeholders

Communication and validation of game-plan against project requirements and scope with stakeholders

Project Execution

Deliver projects to schedule, to quality and to budget

Monitor plan vs. progress: status reporting, issue management and escalation

Guide and manage team members to ensure on-time and quality deliverables within analysis, development and testing activities throughout the project

Manage project resource demand throughout project execution

Risks, Assumption, Issues, Dependencies and Change management

Actively manage project risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and decisions

Provide a point of escalation for project resource and stakeholders

Proactively manage scope and change throughout project execution

Person Requirements

Experience required

Proven experience with managing complex technology programmes of work with multiple concurrent projects

Background from either IT Development or from IT Technical/Business analysis required

experience in the creation and initiation of complex technology delivery programmes

Experience of working within a matrix management environment in a global team

Technology Project management of at least 2-3 major software development implementations in Investment Banking

Proven experience in all phases of Project life cycle within a structured methodology

Understanding of Regulatory Reporting and theBaselaccords

Investment Bank Domain knowledge: at least a high-level understanding of products, functions and processes

Managing projects with cross-geographical resource
