Programmer Analyst – Global Forwarding Application Development Team

Position Description
The Global Forwarding team is seeking a motivated, experienced software developer to help us continue to develop the global system that is increasing C.H. Robinson's presence in the global market. The Global Forwarding System is a core part of the future of C.H. Robinson, as it connects our global branches together under a single system. It is tightly integrated with many of our internal services and also connects to various external government agencies to facilitate cross border transactions. On this team you will have opportunities to use many different areas of .NET technology and the work will do you will have a major impact on the productivity of our branch network.

The successful applicant will design, develop, and test solutions aimed at increasing the speed and capability of this critical system while maintaining the integrity of the existing application. This individual will work closely with their supervisor, peer developers, business analysts and key leaders within our business, and will be empowered to use creativity to its fullest and create fundamental improvements for our organization using .NET and SQL Server technologies.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with business analysts and key stakeholders to provide solutions for complex business problems
- Translate high level requirements into detailed designs
- Provide accurate technical estimates
- Write high quality code that integrates into existing applications
- Conduct unit and functional testing
- Maintain the integrity of application architecture
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and external business representatives to deliver solutions

Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 five years of experience in a software development role
- Experience with VB.net or C#
- Strong understanding of object oriented analysis, design and development
- Experience in GUI development using .net Windows Forms
- Knowledge of SQL Server including database design and stored procedure development
- Demonstrated ability to deliver well tested code in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing graphical user interfaces using design patterns such as MVP or MVVM
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging .net frameworks
- Working knowledge of XML
- Exposure to data modeling, UML, and test plan design a plus
- Exposure to Enterprise Library and other application blocks
- Familiar with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
- Familiar with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
- Working experience with Team Foundation Server
- Knowledge of logistics systems

Required Education
Undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
