Programmer Analyst
DEFINITION:
Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems. Formulates plans outlining steps required to develop program, using structured analysis and design. Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact extensively with external or internal clients to gather requirements for project implementations, report design, and coding.
- Critical understanding of clients' operations and systems.
- Translate requirements of the client into business specifications.
- Determine the potential solutions and test both technical and business compatibility.
- Develop project feasibility reports an implementation schedules.
- Develop a streamlined, project focused implementation process for new and existing clients.
- Work with the software developers and other end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
- Assist in the implementation of a new systems and maintenance of existing/legacy systems.
- Assist in convert legacy systems to a new system for both division and corporate implementation.
- Primary focus is on providing programmer analyst capabilities to assist in streamlining and improving existing systems.
- Develop new and streamlined approaches to improve day to day data processing.
· Suggest innovative changes in application systems.
· Perform various tasks associated with application programming.
· Develop efficiency in the design and maintenance of data base resources besides managing various tasks related to data base management.
· Perform full range of works related to application analysis, design, and programming functions.
· Work towards understanding and modifying operating interrelationships between business applications and operating systems.
· Design and write custom reports to meet user community requirements.
· Develop, understand, and improve operational and installation procedures for client installation, file transfer processing, and implementation of new systems.
· Assist corporate IT with troubleshooting issues and perform the role of onsite support off hours in the event of a “system down” or emergency.
· Attend IT status meetings and be part of the IT team in assisting corporate IT projects as well as onsite projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills
Ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies
Prior Healthcare experience in an IT environment a plus
Revenue Cycle Management experience a plus
Experience with SQL, Crystal Reports, HTML, and scripting, Visual Basic
Experience with Data mining and storage solutions
Experience with SaaS or Hosted environments
Experience with all Microsoft backend products
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
At least 2 years professional experience as an Programmer Analyst
