POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or Business is required.  Candidate must have five years of experience in Java and JavaScript and Java Programming and one year of experience in .Net Programming and Client Access.   Candidate must possess extensive experience with Java Programming and must be totally familiar with Web Page Design and architecture.  Experience with VB, .Net Programming, IBM Client Access and AS400 files would be considered a plus. Candidate must have the ability to multitask, be well organized, and be able to communicate with the customer. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Programmer Analyst / Web / Java plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs to effectively meet user needs and, therefore, business objectives.

Key Result Areas:

1.     PROGRAMMING:  Formulates plan-outlining steps required to develop program.  Converts project specifications into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding.  Enter program code and commands using appropriate computer language.  Troubleshoots system bugs and helps maintain the existing systems. 

2.     ANALYTICAL RESEARCH:  Evaluates user requests for new or modified computer program to determine feasibility, cost, and time required, compatibility with current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.  Consults with BSA to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.  Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to keep up-to-date with programming techniques which will meet user needs.

3.     TESTING:  Reads computer printouts or on-screen reports to detect syntax or logic errors during program test or uses diagnostic software to detect errors.  Makes appropriate corrections.  Installs and tests program to ensure proper performance while working with test analysts.  Analyzes, reviews, and alters programs to increase operating efficiency or adapts to new requirements.

4.     DOCUMENTS:  Writes documentation to describe program development, logic coding, and corrections.
