Qualified individuals will be hired as part of a research and development team that supports the Company’s meteorological, agricultural, and environmental web-based services, numerical modeling, and contractual work.
Essential Position Functions
- Serve as technical lead on projects involving less-experienced personnel.
- Provide technical recommendations to senior management and marketing personnel.
- Represent the company at conferences, on teleconferences, or in office meetings to perspective customers and cooperators.
- Participate in a highly innovative environment with out-of-box thinking.
- Must be comfortable with rapid changes in technology and willing to learn new subject matter and skills.

Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of C, C++, Perl, PHP, and/or Java and an understanding of applications programming from design to operational implementation.
- Knowledge and working experience in object oriented development and design.
- Ability to work in an aggressive RAD environment while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Develop high-quality application code in accordance with coding, documentation, security, and privacy standards and guidelines.
- Ability to design and implement complex applications that conform to security and privacy standards.
- Ability to meet development and testing deadlines and perform corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to simultaneously manage multiple responsibilities, including application design, implementation, and debugging.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, attentive listening, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of team or independently.
Minimum education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, science, engineering, mathematics or other technically-related fields preferred.
- Industry training or certification in programming languages a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years, in-depth, practical experience with C, C++, Perl, PHP, and/or Java.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in client-facing, web application development using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, SOAP, and XML.
