Provides pre-award and non-financial post-award assistance to Health System employees in obtaining and managing sponsored awards. Disseminates funding agency guidelines and funding opportunity information. Maintains Grants Management software system. Reviews proposals and contracts for feasibility and compliance with funding agency guidelines and Health System policies and procedures; assists with budget preparation. Assists in the review and negotiation of investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trial agreements. Collaborates with Department of Legal Affairs, the Office of Technology Transfer and the Clinical Research Center to negotiate contract modifications. Provides guidance and assistance to Principal Investigators and Program Directors in preparing new, non-competing/competing continuation grant applications and other progress reports; facilitates electronic and paper submissions. Works with collaborating institutions to ensure compliance with federally mandated sub-recipient monitoring requirements. Monitors all phases of grant and contract award to ensure compliance with Federal regulations, financial requirements, and sponsor and institutional guidelines; works collaboratively with Grant Financial Specialist to ensure financial compliance and proper accounting of externally and internally sponsored funds. Conducts Kick-Off meetings with Principal Investigators, Program Directors and other stakeholders to review and discuss the terms of award, roles and responsibilities, and schedule of deliverables; participates in review meetings to ensure compliance with terms of award; conducts Close-Out meetings to ensure timely submission of final reports or requests for no-cost extensions. Assists with the scheduling and coordination of workshops and seminars. Identifies reviews and disseminates funding opportunities; develops and disseminates Grants Management Newsletter; generates database reports for administration; Assists with compilation of data for A-133 audits and Annual Reports of External Support; reviews government regulations, policy changes and other agency notices and disseminates information.
