Project Accountant with Deltek
The position will be responsible for the gathering and coding of data critical to billing. The ideal candidate is someone who is a detail oriented self-starter with a strong knowledge of government contracting G/L billing systems. We are seeking candidates who are able to work in a team environment and have demonstrated the ability to recognize the flow of billing processes.
Essential Functions:
- Performs sound internal controls with regards to billing, revenue recognition and project accounting procedures
- Performs control of project accounting (billing, collections, project management support, revenue recognition, project financial reporting)
- Establishes contracts in Deltek Costpoint and evaluates appropriate revenue recognition methodology, ensuring compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS and all other contractual commitments
- Assists with G/L account reconciliations
- Prepares annual DCAA incurred cost submission if needed
- Assist in annual outside audit
- Establish projects in Deltek Costpoint compliant with all contract specifications
- Analyzes project costs, revenues, commitments and obligations underlying budget forecasts
- Develops, maintains, and analyzes project budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs for CEO, Program/Project Managers, and Controller
- Develops and maintains project budgets, Contract Master and Workforce files in Deltek Costpoint time collection system
- Makes and distributes revenue forecasts
- Compiles reports of cost factors, such as labor and other direct costs
- Computes rates for services performed to complete billing documents (invoices)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel including formulas and complex spreadsheets.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Time Collection preferred
- Knowledge of FAR Clauses preferred
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices (GAAP, FASB, DCAA, and etc.)
