Project Accounting Analyst Job in El Paso, Texas Us

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


·         Primarily responsible for the accounting and review of long-term construction projects and subsidiary fixed assets, with tasks and responsibilities as follows:

·         Obtains job numbers and prepares general work orders (GWOs) for larger longer-tem construction projects, and blanket capital work orders (BCWOs) on smaller and/or emergency operation and maintenance of water and wastewater collection systems at the U.S. military base

·         Works with Project Managers and/or Project Engineers to estimate initial estimated cost at completion (ECAC) for projects

·         Tracks initial ECACs and updates as necessary, by inquiry of Project Managers and/or Project Engineers, review of vendor contracts, task orders, change orders, invoices and general ledger financial data as appropriate

·         Verifies invoices, determines account codes and tracks project cost incurred

·         Gathers information, updates the ECACs and work with ASUS headquarters to account for the revenue and profit of construction-work-in-progress (CWIP)

·         Prepares project status reports to help with the delivery and completion of capital projects on time and within budget

·         Performs account reconciliations and books journal entries to adjust project costs as necessary

·         Generates budget-to-actual and other ad hoc reports to support regular financial reviews and business management

·         Prepares customer invoice packages for ASUS headquarter to bill and support cash collection efforts

·         Assists with budget development and capital planning

·         Assists with proposals for new military bases and/or construction work at existing bases

·         Provides technical expertise with the accounting and processing of capital projects

·         Performs a variety of general clerical assignments within a framework of established procedures and without close supervision, including typing, filing, and records management

·         Interfaces with various groups including military base personnel, ASUS headquarters, Corporate accounting and human capital management personnel

·         Helps ensure compliance with accounting, procurement, contracting, payroll, personnel policies, procedures, and SOX control requirements and guidelines

·         Identifies and helps develop process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of current activities

·         Performs other duties as assigned

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·         Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels throughout the organization and across functional lines
