Project Accounting Manager
Our client is looking to add a Project Accounting Manager to their team. This Project Accounting Manager will lead the execution of projects designed to strengthen internal controls and improve processes over financial reporting and accounting. This person will coordinate the review of technical matters and the implementation of new policies and procedures. This person will provide assistance to interpret and analyze complex accounting records or transactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist the Controller with financial analyses and special projects * Work directly with other departments to coordinate the gathering of information necessary for compliance and other projects * Correspond with Corporate on the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures * Oversee the administration and remediation of internal control weaknesses Additional Duties and Responsibilities * Continually aim for department efficiencies and process improvements * Perform special assignments and complete projects as needed The Project Accounting Manager will need to have the following: * Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: * 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience * Bachelor's Degree in accounting or comparable field * CPA Knowledge Skills: * Exceptional technical US GAAP accounting skills * Solid understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements * Effectively communicate in-person with internal staff, external customers and field employees * Proficient with PC including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook * Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
