Project Adviser
Hays Specialist Recruitment are recruiting exclusively on behalf of The Pensions Regulator in Brighton, East Sussex for a Change Project Assurance Adviser to fulfil a fixed-term Contract until December 2013.
The Pensions Regulator require a proactive individual to support the efficient and effective delivery of projects and change through project assurance, advice and supporting The Pensions Regulator’s portfolio.
The Pensions Regulator is the UK regulator of work-based pension schemes. Their principal aim is to prevent problems from developing. They use their powers flexibly, reasonably and appropriately, with the aim of putting things right and keeping schemes on the right track for the long term.
Key accountabilities / responsibilities:
• Providing project assurance of projects of all sizes and at all stages.
• Liaising with staff at all levels, to gather information and review actual and potential projects.
• Proactively working with project teams to support delivery against milestones
• Advising project managers and business representatives on The Pensions Regulator’s project methodology, tools and best practice to increase the level of project standards awareness.
• Coordinate project and change management training
• Producing and analysing MI on the change portfolio and projects.
• Supporting the monthly The Pensions Regulator portfolio reporting.
• Maintaining the Change Integration document library
• Coordinating, maintaining and publishing of team materials on The Pensions Regulator intranet and sustaining a successful working relationship with the Communications team to contribute to this
• Developing strong network/business relationships.
Essential criteria:
· Understanding of the principles of project management at all stages of the lifecycle
· Familiarity with PRINCE 2 is desirable
· Strong relationship management skills and comfortable with dealing with staff at all levels
· Analytical skills and adept at identifying problems and trends
· Office IT software applications – in particular experience in MS Project
