One of the largest Global EPCM’s operating within Australia has a large number of emerging projects in development and as a result there is now a need to hire an experienced Project Controls Manager to help on these existing projects and also for future bid and tender works. Based in Brisbane this role will be responsible for all estimating, planning and cost control functions and will be vital in ensuring the timely delivery of these projects and functions. As an ideal candidate you will have already managed a Project Controls Team as a senior on projects which have exceeded $500 million in value either working for an EPCM consultancy or a client company.
The main function of this role will be to (but not limited to):
- Put together accurate reports in order to identify potential issues and mitigate risk to the project.
- Perform optimisation studies and cost benefit analyses to enhance project performance.
- Manage the team to respond to urgent request from the project management.
- Assess individual team members on performance providing advice where needed.
- Direct the KPIs of all areas of the project (Engineering, Contracts, Materials, and Procurement etc).
- Review and approve all cost forecasts and progress report.
In return the project is offering long term employment opportunities as permanent employee or contractor and attractive contract rates in the vicinity of three hundred to three hundred and fifty thousand.
As an ideal candidate you will need:
- 10 years+ experience of running a project controls team on a large project preferably within Australia valued in excess of $500M.
- A tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant subject.
- Further qualifications such as an MBA would be considered highly desirable but not essential.
- Effective communication skills across all levels.
- A high level of commercial acumen coupled with an acute ability for risk mitigation.
