Position Summary
This position reports directly to the Project Manager for MMR Canada, and will be working on project sites. Plays a key role within the project and provides progress tracking reports, schedules, and other vital project information used by the site project management team. The project controls specialist is responsible and accountable for the implementation of the process that verifies and controls construction activities during their execution in order to reinforce the intended performance goals of the projects.
Role Responsibilities
· Identify and track changes to scope of work.
· Integrate and maintain reports of cost control.
· Integrate and maintain project schedules.
· Report to the corporate construction manager on the weekly monthly analysis of milestones, cost budget, as well as the target vs. actual comparisons for the projects.
· Planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating construction activities and projects from start to finish according to scope of work, schedule, specifications, budget, etc.
- Assist in preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates and change orders.
- Planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules.
- Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to clients.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve scheduling, production and progress matters.
Requirements
· Must have a University degree or technical diploma in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
· Preferably 5-10 years related work experience in providing management support in identifying logging scope changes, tracking costs, and maintaining the schedule.
· Strong interpersonal skills, displaying superior verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment while being attentive to details and meeting deadlines.
· The ideal candidate will be motivated, well organized, a creative thinker and be a proactive team player with the ability to multitask.
· Must have a wide range of advanced computer skills that include building and maintaining tracking documents in various software programs that will typically include but may not be limited to, Microsoft office, Adobe, Access, Primavera, and JD Edwards. (While it is understood that an individual may not be an expert in usage of each of these individual software programs, they must prove an aptitude for learning these programs.)
