Our reputation has been built on undertaking challenging, complex projects such as North Melbourne Station Redevelopment, FMG Rail Construction, Seaford Rail Extension and Gold Coast Rapid Transit.
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to work in our Rail division based in Melbourne with frequent travels away for extended periods. Your role is to ensure the effective Engineering, Planning, Quality, Survey, Cost Control and Scheduling functions for the project.
The position:
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Coordinate with Managers and Superintendents on Engineering, temporary works, scheduling and status of the project
- Provide overall progress reports and other reports related to schedule and cost as required by the Project Manager
- Prepare project execution documentation and provide technical assistance to supervisory personnel
- Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel
- Control fabrication and field construction engineering and schedules for overall programs.
- Participate in bid evaluation of subcontract tenders
- Prepare reports on progress, manpower and costs and coordinate the work scheduling and procurement
Essential Skills:
- Tertiary qualification in construction/civil/mechanical engineering
- 3 – 5 years experience in an engineering role in the rail sector
- Must be willing to relocate to other cities/project sites as required
- Specialist experience in project engineering and a working knowledge of project management
- Competent in planning and organising work schedules and a demonstrated ability to deliver to timelines
- Sound working knowledge of HSE requirements and implementation of same
- Strong and clear communication skills with proven ability to engage others
