- Leadership of Capital and Expense Projects for Celanese Chemicals Clear Lake Plant as outlined below:
- Coordinate front end work leading up to the capital design phase of the project
- Lead the development of overall project scope, execution strategy, and cost estimate fro funds request
- Execute projects while meeting safety, cost, and schedule goals.
- Lead preparation of the funding documents for the project working with the Business Team, Site Personnel and Finance
- Based on project requirements, assemble a team of qualified personnel of various disciplines (Celanese or Contract) to execute the project
- Leads decisions on contracting strategy and selection of contractor(s)
- Provides services and support for pre-startup and commissioning activities
- Responsible for final close out reporting and all documentation required for the project
- Set up cost control in SAP and manage cost, schedule and scope within corporate guidelines
- Perform I/E Engineering Design and Review as required
- Act as role model for other less experienced Project Managers and mentor/coach as appropriate
- Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices such as cost control, estimating, scheduling programs (MS Project, Primavera, etc), and forecasting
- Able to plan and organize projects from inception to start up
- Ability to work in and foster a strong team environment with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of chemical or refinery facilities and integration of project work in these facilities
- Strong safety champion who will lead the project in achieving zero incidents and injuries
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-motivated with ability to originate and adapt to new ideas
- Able to handle multiple activities simutaneously
- General knowledge of SIS, OSHA Part 10 Requirements
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of gated work process for project management
- Good negotiation skills
- Good meeting facilitation skills
- Operational background
- Strong working knowledge of SAP Project Systems Module
- Six Sigma certification
