Project Engineer

Overseas challenge for versatile engineer, based in Azerbaijan (Caspian Coastal Area).

OUR CLIENT
Is a new dairy business with a brand new facility. The business will produce the full spectrum of dairy products for the local and international market in the region - including liquid milk, yoghurts and ice cream. The new factory has recently emerged from pre-production trials to full scale production and is in the process of launching multiple products. The business is located in Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea. The region is principally geared to the oil extraction and refining industry and has created opportunities for businesses to contribute to the wealth creation of the area. THE PROJECT ENGINEER'S role will involve handling the installation, commissioning and handover to production including acceptance trials of a £ multi-million dairy production facility.

• Assessment of current utility installation and capacities
• Design installation of required ME/utility upgrade -
• Electrical distribution network
• HVAC systems
• Compressed air generation and distribution
• Steam generation, distribution and condensate return
• Refrigeration and cooling systems (ammonia based)
• Potable/Process water installations and system design

• Working closely with the engineering manager you will ensure supplier / contractor performance and engage with all stakeholders inside and outside the business to ensure successful outcomes.
• You will be a key player in the business and although your initial focus will be on upcoming projects including a £multi million packaging project you will also be called on in respect of upcoming new and rework projects across the business.

THE CANDIDATE
• We can only consider candidates who have significant experience in running factory projects.
• This is a great opportunity for someone who relishes a challenge and is prepared to develop their career in an unfamiliar environment demonstrating resourcefulness and management capability.
• You will need to be educated to degree level in a relevant engineering subject and be confident in your ability to take £multi-million projects from concept through scoping, tender invitation procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Above all you'll be a team player able to work well in a pressurised environment and to demonstrate the kind of work ethic that supports the business as it grows.
• Resourcefulness needs to be a key attribute, although you will have the support of your mentor and manager you will have considerable autonomy and freedom. In this overseas location you will need to be absolutely rigorous in establishing lead times for even the most basic components/service.
