Project Engineer, Electrochemistry Job in Huntsville 35806, Alabama US
Job Description: We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong background in electrochemical power sources, electrochemistry, general surface chemistry and nanotechnology. Specific responsibilities include :
· Perform hardware assembly, setup, and instrument calibration to test, characterize and evaluate the performance of novel materials and electrodes for batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells.
· Implement previously developed test methods and processes, investigate improvements and modifications, validate and document new processes
· Maintain orderly laboratory facilities, identify component vendors, compile and track purchase orders, monitor equipment status and inventory levels for supplies
Job Requirements:
- A degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, materials, systems engineering, or related technical field
- Prior experience in performing general experimental operations and testing including data acquisition hardware and software. Knowledge of electrochemical characterization techniques (e.g. cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, battery characterization) and working in a glove box are a plus.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written communication, to prepare summaries, graphs, and other material to document results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
- US citizenship is required. Must meet eligibility requirements for obtaining a Secret clearance
