Project Engineer Job in Baton Rouge 70714, Louisiana US
The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of specific project tasks as assigned by the Project Manager. This position interfaces with the estimating division (project engineers will gain/enhance experience in estimating), project assistant (administrative functions are required to complete many assigned tasks) and the project superintendent as well as the Project Manager.
Primarily performs engineering duties in planning for environmental projects for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations and pipeline construction.
Maintain project logs (i.e. storage logs, concrete pour log, RFI log)
Maintain and update schedules (i.e. valve schedule, project schedule)
Identify need for Requests For Information (RFIs)
Coordinate facility startup activities
Prepare, review and process shop drawings
Maintain as-built drawings
Collect and assemble OM material
Purchase Order and Subcontract Scope analysis and drafting
material purchasing and expediting
Document distribution
Value engineering design and proposals
Contract document distribution to jobsite, vendors, subcontractors
Visits project sites to monitor progress conformance to plans and standards
Other duties as assigned by Project Manager
Provide the Project Manager with support and accurate information to maximize project management effectiveness.
Four (4) year Engineering degree
Experience in Water or Waste Water Treatment Facility Construction is a plus
Computer Applications Experience: Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
Primavera Project Planning (P3 or P6) or Primavera SureTrak
