Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will provide project leadership regarding process improvements for both maintenance and production departments to help ensure effective and efficient operations of the Chattanooga Factory.

 

The Factory Manager directs the overall functions of the Factory.  Reporting to the Factory Manager is the Production Department Manager, PLD Manager, Quality Manager, Accounting Manager, Procurement Manager and the Engineering Manager. The Project Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager. 

 

The Project Engineer is responsible for:

 

·         Managing capital engineering projects to ensure their successful completion within established time and budget parameters

·         Coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects

·         Planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating assigned engineering work

·         Monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and Wrigley standards

·         Ensuring effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all project participants. 

·         Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects

·         Assists in the preparation of engineering project proposals

·         Budget monitoring and trend tracking

·         Follows all appropriate factory GMP, food safety, safety and quality policies

·         Provides technical support to associate companies and performs special projects as requested by the Factory Manager

·         Prepares interim and completion project reports

·         BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering and/or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

·         A minimum of 7 years related experience in manufacturing and project management to include: 1) Experience planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects; and 2) Experience directing the design, development and installation of modern manufacturing equipment processes, facilities and facility equipment to optimize product quality and productivity while minimizing costs

·         Food or consumer goods industry highly preferred.

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills

·         Interacts effectively with other staff engineers, guided by Wrigley values

·         Proficiency in computer use, Microsoft Office and SAP experiene a plus
