Project Engineer Job in Des Moines, Iowa US

Manpower is searching for a Project Engineer for our Central Iowa client. This person will work with the Design team in the development process and mange the design, test and production.

This candidate will also act as liaison between: sales, dealers, service, manufacturing, purchasing and customers.

Duties to include:

* Direct engineering projects and teams as assigned by the Engineered Solutions Manager
* Develops and assists Design Engineers in developing training
* Supervise product development and design activities through direct contact with design personnel.
* Design parts and detail using Solid Works and AutoCAD.
* Manage employees on engineering team, including performance management, disciplining and interviewing new employees.
* Review and approve service, operators, maintenance and parts manuals.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering
* Proficient with multiple software packages including, but not limited to, Solid Works, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Excel, Access and Word, SmarTeam, PowerPoint, MathCAD, CHESS, Outlook, Cognos, E-mail and Ease (somat).
* Ability to integrate machine performance, costs, manufacturability and reliability which is a direct link to the Company
* Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, including continuous improvement and lean, FEA evaluation, stress analysis, hydraulics, electrical systems, design and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to achieve goals in the product development process, which include gross margin, cost, reliability and performance for each particular project and annual critical success factors (CSFs) to support the Company's yearly directives.
* Ability to effectively manage project development and engineering teams to complete projects on time and within budget.
* Ability to supervise staff in the performance of duties such that performance meets or exceeds expectations.
* Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
