Job Title: – Project Engineer - Mechanical/Industrial
Job Description: This job provides mechanical/industrial engineering support for projects and day to day operations. The candidate will also support the plant to achieve goals and objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost while supporting the JPS initiatives to improve bekido and chokko!
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of tooling, mechanisms, and equipment for use in metalworking in manufacturing processes
- Provide technical support for existing equipment and processes in a manufacturing environment to insure optimum efficiently is achieved
- Perform standard analysis, calculations, and generate drawings, as required in product engineering designs
- Independently manage multiple projects and activities to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement goals while meeting planned deadlines
- Work independently and in support of other engineers in solving problems associated with manufacturing and new item launches
- Requires the ability to interact and work with associates at multiple skill levels
- Ability to work independently within a team structure
- Provide mechanical engineering support in area of scrap reduction, productivity improvements, machine builds, and quality improvements
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in using computers with the Windows operating system including the Microsoft Office Group of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Access skill are a plus
- Proficient with Pro/Engineer and AutoCAD, CNC programming experience is a plus
- Capable of taking engineering theories and putting them to practical use in manufacturing
- Ability to document process changes in support of a structured Quality Assurance system
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Effective interpersonal skills with internal and external customers
- Experience in Heat Treating Metals including metallurgy, atmosphere and furnace controls
- Machine and tool design, practical understanding of metallurgy and metrology
- Uses hands on approach to engineering in support of manufacturing.
- Qualified candidates will have a BS in Mechanical/Inidustrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
