This position is accountable for the development of product proposals and documentation for manufacture of special, modified, and non-cataloged CCH products, parts, components and certain selected products sold to OEM customers.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Investigates the modification and custom assembly of existing products and manufacturing capabilities to satisfy customer requests. Requires expeditious, independent and team problem solving utilizing creativity and engineering rigor, to convert products into engineered to order solutions.
- Creates all necessary documentation for manufacture, costing, customer approvals and installation, including but not limited to assembly drawings, schematics, bills of material, etc.
- Works with customers, Customer Service, Operations, Sourcing and vendors, and Field Sales to meet technical and scheduling requirements, at lowest cost to the division.
- Devise tests and coordinate testing and evaluation of products to maintain design performance and to obtain third party certification when necessary.
- Prepares product proposals and documentation in response to field sales, distributor and customer inquiries for special products. Helps coordinate bid process with Supervisor, and Field Sales where necessary, to ensure profitability, business unit capability and adequate levels of customer service.
- Consults with Product Line managers on new alternatives to satisfy customer inquiries, and to share modifications and ideas concerning existing products to consider for new offerings.
- Communicate with all departments to insure that correct engineering documentation is available and in use in the manufacture of the respective products.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position independently develops modifications and assemblies of CCH products to meet customer provided requirements and specifications, safety and quality requirements, at lowest possible cost. It requires a high level of creativity and problem solving skills to design a wide range of custom made to order products.
.The incumbent assumes responsibility of all technical project activities. The incumbent serves on teams, committees and ad hoc groups to address design, quality, safety and manufacturability issues. Skills include engineered material selection, advanced design elements, design costing, project management, team coordination, technical report writing, CAD, product document management, PC spreadsheet and word processing capabilities.
Job Requirements:
• The candidate must possess a 4-year Engineering or Technical degree and have a minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Skills include engineering design change management, engineered material selection, design costing, project management, team coordination, technical report writing, computer assisted drafting (CAD), and personal computer spreadsheet and word processor knowledge. :
• Engineering Skills – 3-D CAD (SolidWorks),
• Experience with Electrical products is highly desired
• Excellent communication skills including writing instructions and communicating with vendors/suppliers
