Project Engineer Job

One of the biggest iron ore projects in Australia requires a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer from a heavy materials handling background. This is a chance to work on this landmark project and exercise your fountain of knowledge and experience as you will be working close to the client. As this EPCM has won the opportunity to manage the project directly for the client you will be organising and overseeing the contractors on the project. Previous experience as a client representative and heavy material handling experience would play an advantageous facet within this role.

General duties and responsibilities will include:

• Supervise preparation of preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all engineering project work
• Supervise preparation of documentation for standards, procedures, safe working practices and monitor regimes in respect of work on or around projects
• Liaise with other department engineers and draftspersons to ensure project goals are met
• Ensure project work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works
• Ensure delivery of schedules to be completed on time and within budget
• Provide input to the engineering budget and address any variances
• Manage the activities of engineering sub-contractors

In order to succeed in this role you will need the following:

• Tertiary Education in Engineering – Mechanical
• Heavy materials handling iron ore project experience
• Client representation experience would be beneficial in this role
• Previous EPCM or client side experience is essential
• A proven track record for 5-7+ years of delivering mining projects in Australia
