Kelly Engineering Resources is currently accepting resumes for a Mechanical Project Engineer position in York, PA. The Project Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of engineering assignments. Establish work schedules for the effective utilization of available personnel to meet established priorities and dates for assigned projects. Technical supervision of assigned personnel engaged in designing and drafting functions. Review and check design work to ensure correctness, also check to ensure completeness and understanding by Manufacturing and vendors. Check specifications and technical information relating to the equipment or materials to be used on the job. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Observes safety regulations and exhibits a concern for safety. Reviews product design for compliance with mechanical engineering principles, Company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Directly supervises and coordinates activities of Design-Drafters and Drafters. Organizes schedules and staff as required for completion of job assignments on schedule and within budget. Reviews inquiry specifications and prepare clarifications and exceptions for use by the Proposal/Sales department. Technically proficient to guide, critique, and approve subordinates work. Performs related engineering calculations such as stress and deflection, strength of non-standard machine parts, thickness of pressure parts, WK2 calculations, starting torque, horsepower requirements, etc. Travels to customer plants, as assigned, to provide mechanical service on products. Provide technical selling support for Marketing/Sales. Keeps abreast of new developments in industry by reviewing current technical literature, seminars, trade shows, technical associations, etc. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE · College degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience; at least one year experience in mechanical system design. · Proven ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. · Excellent communication skills required, combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. · Required domestic and/or foreign travel to vendor/customer/business locations Kelly Engineering Resources (KER) has actively staffed the engineering industry since 1965, specializing in placing engineering professionals in contract, contract-to-hire and full-time employment in industries including aerospace, alternative energy, biotechnology, electronic hardware design, manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, nanotechnology, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, power, shipbuilding, and telecommunications.
