Purpose of the Job
To undertake engineering associated with the design and development of industrial turbines in all relevant technical aspects in order to adhere to the contract execution time schedule and timely completion of the engineering tasks and milestones. Efficient processing of engineering tasks related to the steam turbine thermodynamics, the design of the blade path and the detailed blading design (incl. the blading order management) ensuring high quality level and delivery of the work package scope within cost targets.
Working together with other RD and engineering functions, project management, sourcing and key commodity management, factory, quality management and site personnel in a pragmatic and solution oriented way.
Understand the thermodynamic behavior and generate heat balances. Looking for improvement potentials and optimization of the ST performance and efficiency. Safe design of steam turbine blade solutions.
Support of tendering with regards to generation of heat balances, steam path variants as well as module and blading/staging proposals.
Experience
For this position we are looking for somebody that is flexible to move into the area of Blade Path Design. If you have Steam Turbine Thermodynamic experience but not Blade path design experience it is not an issue as long as you have a willingness to learn.
Minimum 5 years advanced experience in thermodynamic cycle calculations of turbomachinery generator sets preferably steam turbines. Advanced knowledge in ST blade design and it's production/manufacturing processes.
Professional use of IT solutions in the field of work such as Alpro, HT160, HT220, CATIA V5, Team Center and R-PDM. Programming capabilities and knowledge of KKS System are of advantage.
Good understanding of ST design, ST operation concepts and ST instrumentation and supervision.
Basic understanding in:
Fluid Dynamics, Aerodynamics, Static and Dynamics (MI) of rotating equipments, Material Science
Power generation in general, operation and maintenance of steam turbines, safety and control/supervision and instrumentation, risk analysis, international codes and standards.
