Project Engineer / Manager to assist in the set-up commissioning of a new service facility for a major national transportation organisation.
As the Commissioning Engineer you will be responsible for managing and coordinating project activities to ensure the project site is tested and handed over to the operations team in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
In addition you will engage identify stakeholders their requirements, manage, coordinate construction completion, and handover activities of this new support service facility. Accountable to the Project Manager you will assist as the right hand man and deliver the project within time, cost and quality constraints.
Your project tasks will include:
- Defining user requirements and translating these requirements into design outcomes;
- Coordinating the production of detailed procedures for commissioning and handover of the facilities including associated safety procedures
- Coordinate the production of detail design works required to construct the facility;
- Coordinate and procurement and tendering activities;
- Manage onsite contractors and construction works;
- Prepare project work breakdown structure, work schedules / programs and budgets estimates
- Implement sound project management principles, processes and practices to ensure they are delivered in accordance the project plan and objectives.
- Preparation of project physical and financial reporting.
To be successful you will possess:
- Sound project management or project engineering skills, 5-8 years experience.
- Demonstrated experience working on large and complex projects
- Experience of working on mechanical and electrical equipment systems and facilities
- Sound contract management and negotiation skills,
- Sound Analytical and Problem Solving Skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
- Strong level communications and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in commissioning multi-discipline heavy engineering or industrial construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience working on large and complex multi-discipline projects $50M
- Strong risks management skills
- Sound financial management skills.
