Project Engineer -Transportation Job in Denver, Colorado US
Our Denver office is hiring a Project Engineer to support transportation and other related projects. Successful candidate will perform independent engineering calculations and design using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications. The work may include street improvements, freeway, highway and roadway design, drainage and water quality design, conceptual design and feasibility analysis, construction documents and all supporting documentation. Successful candidate must be proficient with horizontal and vertical alignment design, modeling, super elevation, setting grades for roadway widening, signing and striping, roadway drainage design, utility relocations, coordination with structures engineers, earthwork, quantity take-offs, specification writing, engineer’s estimate, and construction engineering support.
Other duties include:
- Conceptual and final design of all aspects of transportation projects.
- Provide sketches and/or detailed layout information to design staff for incorporation into the construction drawings.
- Microstation design and InRoads modeling.
- Provide task leadership by monitoring project budgets, schedule, and overseeing project teams under the supervision of a Project Manager.
- Provide project specific technical information to the Project Manager for incorporation into the project specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- E.I. registration required
- Experience preparing and delivering design drawing and plan packages.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of continuous experience in the design of arterial roadways, state highways, and freeways.
- Conceptual and final design experience recommended.
- Strong Microstation and InRoads modeling experience required
- AutoCAD experience highly recommended
- Knowledge of CDOT design standards.
- Experience in drainage and water quality design a strong benefit.
- Ability to work with others and be a team player in a multidiscipline office
